She also sells AVON, secondhand things donated to her, and she can also sew. A client of hers helped her get the land they currently live on. They got the land on credit and Araceli takes about $27 a week to save up towards the monthly payment. They live just a couple blocks from the kids school, so they don’t have to pay transportation. They do not have electricity because her street doesn’t have an electric post and she cannot afford to install one. Even like this, they have been making this home since last summer. At first they didn’t even have a bathroom and had to go to neighbors, shops, or the school to use the restroom. Araceli was able to get a hole dug to do an outhouse because her children needed an easier way, especially the younger twins. People from the community, church and family members all pitched in to build them a bathroom. Araceli has been a single mother for more than a year and all her heart desires is a to be able to give her children a proper home to grow up in and a better future. At the age of 44, it is not easy anymore for her to do this on her own. She is incredibly grateful for HOH and the team willing to come help her fulfill this dream.
