Both Ana Lupe and Aquilino were born in Guerrero. They met in high school and that’s when they started dating. They dated for 2 years before Ana Lupe moved in with Aquilino at his mother’s house. They lived in a small town, Aquilino had wanted to continue his studies, but there just wasn't opportunities for that where they lived. Ana Lupe got pregnant and had their daughter in their town. Aquilino struggled to find work and make a good life, so they decided to move to Ensenada. They started out living with Aquilino’s sister before they found the lot they now live on. They knew they wanted a pace of their own and couldn’t stay with the sister, so they decided to save for a down payment and buy the land on credit. In the house they built on the land they have struggled with rains leaking in causing mud and humidity, as well as cold temperatures during the winter and it’s been very hard on their young daughter.
