Family Story:
Margarita is originally from Cuernavaca, where she was previously in a relationship there which is when her son Arturo was born. Arturo was born premature at eight months and with a learning disability, and requiring a lot of time and attention. When Arturo was three years old, Margarita decided to come to Ensenada in search of more job opportunities and a better way of life for Arturo. When Arturo started preschool, it was his teachers that noticed his disorder and suggested he get diagnosed and sent to a school for special needs children. Arturo has been attending the school here in Ensenada for special needs children ever since. Margarita works as a saleswoman ; selling candy and microfiber cloths. What money she earns is not enough to properly provide for her and her son, pay their bills, buy food, make the land payments, and build a house. Margarita and Arturo are currently living in a trailer that was given to them by Margarita’s boss. Margarita wants a better future for her son and to help make things easier for him as he grows up and deals with his disability.
