Family Story:

Alicia and Marcos met at a park in Cuernavaca and after getting to know each other they stared a relationship; eventually moving in together and starting a family. They moved from place to place looking for work and a better life. Marcos left to San Vicente, just outside Ensenada, looking for work whil Alicia had stayed behind with their sons in Guerrero. Once Marcos had a steady job, Alicia and the boys moved to Ensenada to be with Marcos. While living apart, Marcos had started drinking and it made him aggressive towards Alicia. It was around this time the they both became christians and Marcos was able to turn his life around. They have been going to church ever since and are very grateful that Marcos is now sober and doing well. 9 months ago they got a piece of land on credit which they continue to pay off. Marcos built the family a room to live in on their land using wood scraps and plastic. Marcos works in the fields doing different jobs and his salary isn’t much. They need a better home for their children, and grandchildren who visit. (Marcos and Alicia have an older daughter who has children).
