FAMILY STORY:
Pedro and Aurelia are from Oaxaca. They have 6 six children. Rigoberto is 16, Marisa is 14, Pedro Angel is 12, Miguel is 9, Cecilia is 7 and Kevin is 1 year old.
The work condition in Oaxaca is really hard, there is not too much work and is not well paid. For the last 20 years they have been traveling between Oaxaca and Ensenada looking for better opportunities to work and live. In this period of time they have been living in many different places, renting houses, with friends or family member, in houses other people lend them, but they never had their own place. It’s because of this that sometimes, they have been forced to go back to Oaxaca, when they can’t find a place to live or they just can’t pay one.
All the family needs are cover by Pedro, who is the only person who is working right now. He works as a helper in a construction with a weekly salary of 1,200 pesos (around 70 dlls.). Aurelia can’t work because she had a C-section with her last baby, and is not yet in conditions to work.
The family desire to have their own house, a place that belong to them, that they can call home. Pedro and Aurelia want to give their children a safe and comfortable place where to live, grown and raise them safely.
