Cecilia and José are examples of a family that goes above and beyond their limitations to help other people. José is disabled but works in a gas station to support his family. Cecilia picks up scrap metal and cans and sells them, she also asks for money on the streets. They usually make around $3,600 pesos per month (Around $200 Dlls.) Their older daughter, Fabiola, was abandoned by her mother because of her health issues, but they adopted her and took her in as one of their own. Their younger child also has some mental issues that make her a slow learner. Even with all these problems, José and Cecilia work hard for their children. They were able to buy a property and currently live in a small trailer there.

 

They are very excited to receive a Home of Hope, a place that is bigger and more convenient for their needs. A safer, healthier and more comfortable place where they can take care of and raise their children.

She receives $500 pesos per week (Around $27 USD) from her ex-husband as child support. Her mom also lives with her. Her mom receives $2,300 pesos per month from her retirement (Around $130 USD.) and they also use that for their needs.

 

Leyda is very proud of her children, all of them have top grades in their schools. Leyda desires to have a Home of Hope to provide a better place to raise her kids and where she and her mom can be comfortable raising her children together.

They lived together and had their children but he didn’t really support them or her. Her grandma asked her to come to Ensenada to live with her so she could help raise her children. Justina considered it the best option and decided to move back. The father of her children didn’t want to come so they separated. Justina came to live with her grandmother and aunt, her grandfather gifted her a piece of land, and the neighbors joined together to help her build a small room and gave her some basic furniture.

 

Justina works selling crafts that she made. The job is very unstable and sometimes she works the whole day and earns nothing, and other times she can make up to $300 pesos in one day (Around $17 USD.).

 

Justina’s hope is to give her children a better future. She wants a Home Of Hope in order to have a safer place for her children to learn and grow.

Claudia really wants to provide a better life for her children, but she knows she can’t do it on her own. She is asking for a Home Of Hope to provide her family a better and safer place. A place where they can grow up healthy and happy.

They want to receive a Homes Of Hope house to provide their daughters with a safer, bigger and more comfortable place to live. José knows that he doesn’t have the possibility to do this by himself but he has faith that God will help them.
