FAMILY STORY:

José is 48 years old and is from Tepic. Cecilia is 33 years old and is from Tijuana. They have four children: Fabiola is 18 years old and has Cerebral Palsy, Cristian is 14 years old and is in 8th grade, Areli is 10 years old and is in 5th grade, and Itzel is 7 years old and is in 1st grade.

Cecilia and José are examples of a family that goes above and beyond their limitations to help other people. José is disabled but works in a gas station to support his family. Cecilia picks up scrap metal and cans and sells them, she also asks for money on the streets. They usually make around $3,600 pesos per month (Around $200 Dlls.) Their older daughter, Fabiola, was abandoned by her mother because of her health issues, but they adopted her and took her in as one of their own. Their younger child also has some mental issues that make her a slow learner. Even with all these problems, José and Cecilia work hard for their children. They were able to buy a property and currently live in a small trailer there.

They are very excited to receive a Home of Hope, a place that is bigger and more convenient for their needs. A safer, healthier and more comfortable place where they can take care of and raise their children.
