Since then she hasn't been able to get the legal guardian papers, but for the past 12 years she has been totally responsible for Yutziri regardless of her old age and health problems. The government supports them with $65 worth of food stamps every two months and Emilia's daughter (Luz Maria) helps to cover some living expenses. Her house is made out of wood and it's a small room where they cook and sleep, they don't have electricity. The desire of her heart is to be able to have a safe home for both of them to live.

Then there’s Marina and she’s in 10th grade.  And then Alan who’s in 7th grade. They all go to Circulo Andante (which is one of YWAM Ensenada’s childrens ministries). When she decided to leave her husband she started paying for the property where currently live in a trailer she bought for them. Being a single, working mother of 3 children, she is not able to build or buy a proper house for her family.
