FAMILY STORY:
Emilia is 72 years old and lives with her granddaughter Yutziri who is 12 years old. Yutziri's mom gave her up at 5 months old to live with her grandmother. Since then she hasn't been able to get the legal guardian papers, but for the past 12 years she has been totally responsible for Yutziri regardless of her old age and health problems. The government supports them with $65 worth of food stamps every two months and Emilia's daughter (Luz Maria) helps to cover some living expenses. Her house is made out of wood and it's a small room where they cook and sleep, they don't have electricity. The desire of her heart is to be able to have a safe home for both of them to live.
