Family Story:
Lisbet and Esteban are from Ensenada. They met each other at work and began dating shortly after. After 6 months of dating, they moved in with Esteban’s mother. Two months later, Lisbet was pregnant. Liz had to stop working in order to take care of herself and the pregnancy. When Lisbet was just 4 months pregnant, her mother-in-law’s house burned down and her and Esteban were forced to find a place to live. They moved in to the house behind Lisbet’s mother as it was available to rent. Four months later their son was born. Shortly after Jonatan was born, Lisbet noticed he was struggling to eat and had come down with a fever, so they took him to the doctor. The doctor said he was not doing well, so they gave him injections, did blood tests and treatments. The results came back saying the baby was anemic and malnourished. About a year after Jonatan was born, Lisbet and Esteban decided to get a piece of land and were looking for one that they could afford the down payment on and pay the rest over monthly payments. They found one that worked on facebook and gave the down payment for it. After they made the second payment, they were able to their land. Lisbet’s mother and in-laws helped them to build a small house on their land, where they have been living for almost a year. Lisbet would like a YWAM house so she can provide for his well being and give him a better future.
