Sotero and Lidia met 11 years ago in Guerrero after Sotero had found a cellphone of one of Lidia’s friends and called Lidia’s number to find the owner. They were friends for 4 months, dated for a year, and then were married. They later moved to Ensenada for work and now have 3 sons. A neighbor told them about some lots that were being sold and they thought it might be a good opportunity to obtain something that would be their own. They are now asking for help from Homes of Hope for a house so that they can give their children a better life and protection from the climate. They have been able to build a home by their own means as they earn very little and have to pay for their children’s education, living expenses and land payments.
