Family Story:
Blanca is originally from Chiapas, but moved to Ensenada in 2014; Jorge is from Ensenada. Jorge worked for an agriculture packaging company near where Blanca lived. They were friends for 5 months before they began dating and they eventually moved in together. They rented a house together from 2015-2018 before ending up with Jorge’s mother. It was not long before they started having problems with Jorge’s mother and needed to find a place of their own. They began searching for a plot of land with payments they could afford and were able to find one near Blanca’s mother. Jorge works selling candy, chips, and fruit at Playa Hermosa from Monday-Saturday, all day long. During a good month, he can earn up to $315 a month, but winter months are not as profitable. Blanca dedicates herself to taking care of their daughter and house. Jorge built a small room for them on their land, it is wood covered with plastic but it looks in the rain.
