Family Story:
Ana Laura is a single mom, she is 27 years old and is from Michoacán. She has two kids. Zoe is 5 years old and is in 3rd grade in kindergarten. Bryan is 8 years old and is in 3rd grade in elementary school. Ana Laura has been working hard for her kids in the last two years. She works in a factory earning 1,100 pesos (Around $60 Dlls.) per week. For a time, she lived with her mom but his brother with his wife and kids also lives there. The house is too small for all of them so after saving some money she bought a property with a credit. She built a small room with pieces of wood and tarp. She is doing monthly payments of $1,000 per month. Both kids go to school which increases the living cost for her. She has to pay nursery for one of them and the other one can go to her factory nursery. Ana Laura knows she doesn’t have the resources to give her children a better place to live.
