LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:

My name is Venancia Rosas González, and I am originally from the state of Guerrero, in southern Mexico, where I lived my entire life. That is where I got married and had my first child. However, things changed drastically in our community due to increasing violence, to the point where it was no longer safe to go out and work. At one point, we had to borrow money from someone to survive, but this only brought us more problems, as they sent someone to intimidate us. Faced with this situation, we decided to pay off the debt as soon as possible and leave Guerrero. We contacted a relative who lived in Rosarito, and with their support, we managed to move. Shortly after, my husband found a job, and with effort, we were able to rent a place on our own. Over time, I became pregnant with our second child, who was born in Tijuana. However, expenses kept increasing, rent prices went up, and my husband's salary was no longer enough. One day, we learned about the opportunity to acquire a plot of land through a transfer. After discussing it, we decided to take out a loan to buy it, hoping to build a home and no longer struggle with rent payments. To help pay off the debt, I also started working. Despite our efforts, the cost of living continues to rise, and with our child in school, we still cannot afford a home. For this reason, I turn to you, group Homes of Hope, with faith in God and our Lord, to ask for your support. It would be a miracle for us to provide our children with a home where they can feel safe and comfortable.
