LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:

To Whom It May Concern, Homes of Hope Team: My name is Graciela Pedroza Espinoza, and I am writing to request your support because my current financial situation does not allow me to build a proper home for my family. I live with my couple Javin, my two children, a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. We need a decent space with privacy, especially considering their ages. Five years ago, we arrived in Rosarito and started by renting a room. Shortly after, I acquired a plot of land on a payment plan, and we have been living there for the past three years. Initially, we only had walls, and we spent a month sleeping in a tent. With great effort, we managed to build a basic shelter using recycled wood from my previous job. Unfortunately, the floor has holes that allow animals to enter, and in some areas, it is unstable or has gaps. Inside, I divided the space using curtains as we have no interior walls. The sheet metal roof is not secure during strong winds, and the walls let in dust and water. We tried covering them with black plastic, but the sun damaged it. Our bathroom is outdoors, and all our furniture is either donated or made from recycled materials. My children attend school, and although we initially had to walk long distances, I was eventually able to purchase a car on payments with the help of friends. Despite our efforts, we continue to face difficult living conditions, and I deeply wish to improve our home to provide a more dignified and stable life for my children. I sincerely thank you for considering our request and send warm regards on behalf of my family, the Albarrán Pedroza family.
