To whom it may concern,
I, Albina Zauala Cruz, am truthfully stating that I live in El Ejido Lazaro Cardenas since 9 years ago. I am coming to you all because I am feeling desperate. A year ago I separated from my husband because he has a big problem with alcohol and he never made an effort to make a good home for our kids. He built a small room for us to live in but I had a lot of problems with the rains, because it was very leaky. It was also very uncomfortable for my kids. My sister saw we were living in a bad situation and invited us to live with her in her house. But, her house is very small and her, her husband, her kids, and her niece live there. And now my family lives there too all squished together.
I don't work because, I have to take care of my kids. The father of my kids gives me $500 peses a week, because he works in construction. I save from that for food and water, since we don't have to pay for electricity because we live with my sister. And I also take from that money to pay for the land.
But little by little we are getting there. That is why I believe in God and hope that I will qualify for a house for my children. They are innocent and shouldn't have to take on the blame of what their parents did wrong.
