Family Story:
Cornelia was born in Veracruz, and her husband Anthony, in Oaxaca. Cornelia has had a very hard life and multiple husbands. Cornelia’s first husband disappeared after he found out Cornelia was pregnant; the next didn’t treat her well but he got custody of the daughter. Cornelia met another man and with him she lost 2 babies; one died as a newborn and the second she lost during pregnancy due to her not taking care of herself. After some time, she got pregnant again, this time with Jose. When Jose was just 4 years old they separated; Cornelia said the father was irresponsible and couldn’t keep a job. It was 13 years ago that she met Antonio, and he took very good care of her and Jose. They had been living in Mexico City, but due to crime and bad influences surrounding Jose, they decided it was best to leave. They came to Ensenada to provide a better life for Jose and finish raising him in a safer environment. They have asked for help that they might be able to have a home. Antonio is the only one who works and his salary is not enough to provide anything more than the little room they live in.
