Patricia is 50 years old, she is from Jalisco. She is a single mom with one daughter still under her charge. Andrea is 10 years old and is in 6th grade in elementary school. Patricia is from Jalisco but moved to Mexicali when she was young. She grew up and studied there. She moved with her family to San José, California and lived there for some years. Her older daughter got sick over there and they had to move back to Ensenada. She had Andrea some time before moving back from San José, just a little before she divorced. She is now living in Ensenada. She works selling burritos earning around $1,200 pesos per week (Around $70 Dlls.). They live in a small wood room she made with some of the money she saved from the time she was living in san José. With the same money they were capable to completely pay for their property. Patricia doesn’t have anymore the resources to build a better home for her and her daughter, that’s why she is asking for a HOH house. She want to give her daughter a safe, dry and warm place to live.
