FAMILY STORY:
Gabriela is from Colima, she has 3 children; Teresa who is 14 years old and is in her 3rd year of middle school, Octavio who is 10 and is in 6th grade in elementary school and Estrella who is 2.
When Gabriela was 1 year old her mom separated from her dad and decided to move to Ensenada. When she was 4 years old her mom died and her grandma took care of her.
Gabriela met the father of her children and one year later they decided to move together to start a life together. They separated three years ago a couple months before Estrella was born.
Gabriela works cleaning 2 houses on the week and on weekends she sells cloth in a second hand’s store (a “Segunda”) to support her family.
They live in a small wood room which is too small for all of them. Gabriela’s desire is to have a house where her children can be comfortable and safe and where they can have a better future together.
