Misael and Lourdes met while working in the fields. They became a couple and were married and started a family. Before meeting Lourdes, Misael had previously been married and Jorge Humberto is from that marriage. Misael and Lourdes have had two children together. The land where they currently live was bought by Misael and his sister, and they were the ones paying for it over 6 years. The land is paid off and Misael and his family have been living their for 4 years now. 4 years ago they built a small home from wood, plastic for the roof, and a dirt floor. They have struggled ever since becoming a family, but have hope that one day they will have a proper home for their children and be able to provide their children with a better life. Misael works in the fields watering the plants and receives minimum wage which is needed to cover all of their expenses. At the moment, Lourdes stays home to care for her family.
