Family Story:
Benito and Ruth are both from Michoacán. There had been a lot of organized crime around where they lived and they were victims of it. The criminals called their home and threatened to kidnap members of the family if they didn’t get the money they asked for. Life became harder for them, especially when the criminals began to demand a monthly deposit with a deadly ultimatum. Due to this, they decided to move to Ensenada and start over. Benito got the same job that he had back in Michoacán, and is working as a butcher. Ruth helps families in need bringing them food and taking care of kids. Their daughter Dafne is in middle school. They’re currently living in a small room they built and are still paying for the property where they live.
