YWAM San Diego/Baja’s DTS is a five-month school that aims to equip you for a lifetime of serving God. The central theme of the DTS is “To know God and make Him known.” We aim to help you fall deeper in love with God, gain a greater passion for the world, and have an incredible adventure with God as you step out in faith and obedience!

During the disciple training school, you will focus on developing your understanding of God’s Nature, character, and ways. You’ll also be challenged to discover your identity in Christ and take control of His purpose for your life by living out your faith in the context of a vibrant community. The DTS is broken into two phases: the campus phase and the outreach phase.

During the Campus phase, students select an elective in which they seek to grow and develop. Students come from around the world to pursue walking deeper in faith, with a passion to see the world filled with the knowledge and glory of the Lord. The DTS begins every January, June, and September. Our schools are bilingual in both English and Spanish, providing an excellent opportunity to learn Spanish & English.

Campus Phase

You’ll spend 11 weeks immersed in the local culture and beauty of Baja California, Mexico. On our campus, you will pursue a deeper faith with missions training and daily worship, and you will choose an elective of your choice as you pursue further growth.

Just south of the U.S./Mexico border, we have two beautiful campuses—one in Ensenada and the other in San Antonio Del Mar. Students will live dormitory-style with other DTS students as they grow and learn together in community. Both campuses are just a few minutes from the beach, and students can enjoy God’s creation in their free time.

During the campus phase, you will be able to develop your passion for spreading the glory of the Lord into practical skills that will enable you to share your faith and God's story with communities worldwide.

Outreach Phase

Spend an 8-week international phase to GO, SERVE, & SHARE God’s incredible love to the world! You’ll venture to a community unfamiliar with God’s story and use your new missional mindset to transform lives with His love.

Perform hands-on missions through service work, prayer, worship, and your chosen passion empowered during your elective.

Possible outreach destinations include: Latin America, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, The Caribbean, or Africa

Everything You Need to Know to Apply for DTS

When is DTS?

At YWAM San Diego/Baja, we start a new DTS every January, June, and September so you can choose the right time for your life. DTS is a five-month experience that includes 11 weeks of training and 8 weeks of international outreach.

Where is DTS?

While our office is in San Diego, our discipleship training schools run south of the US border in Baja California, Mexico. Both our San Antonio Del Mar and Ensenada campuses overlook the Pacific Ocean and are only a few minutes walk from the beach.

Cost of DTS

The campus phase costs $3,695. This includes tuition, housing, training materials, and meals for the entire 11 weeks. Depending on your overseas destination, the outreach could cost anywhere between $2,500 and $4,500. This price covers local transportation, meals, and lodging for the 8-week trip.
