Our DTS starts with a three-month Campus Phase, during which students discover more about God while surrounded by God's beauty in beautiful Baja California, Mexico, just south of San Diego. The core of our DTS is our six elective offerings, which offer a unique opportunity to learn more about your specific passions through God.
When you choose the Uplift Elective, you will participate in weekly workouts led by a Crossfit Level-1 Trainer who will help you test yourself and step outside your comfort zone. If you're passionate about sports and how sports missions can build connections, then Uplift Track is for you. The uplift elective aims to prepare you to run life’s race successfully, create good habits, practice self-discipline, and grow together with a Christian community.
YWAM San Diego/Baja’s Christian fitness training course is for anyone interested in physical discipline and spiritual growth. Students live in a close-knit community with one another and encourage one another to grow in their walk with the Lord. There is also time to meet in small groups and the opportunity to be personally mentored, encouraged, and disciplined by our YWAM staff.

Once the Campus Phase is complete, take what you learned in the Uplift DTS classroom into immediate real-world practice in the Outreach Phase. This is where sports missions comes to life! During 8-week sports mission trips, you’ll travel to an overseas destination to apply the concepts you learned during the Campus Phase and use your sports missions skills to exhibit God’s love and serve communities untouched by his story.
Our outreach activities will include home building, feeding the houseless, ministering to orphans, and praying over red-light districts. As you dive deeper into a vibrant relationship with God, you’ll find that sports mission trips are an opportunity for your newfound discipline to take center stage and help you serve others with patience and Christ’s love.
Possible outreach locations include Europe, Asia, & Latin America. Want to learn more about our Uplift Track or our other elective offerings? Check out our DTS FAQ for the inside scoop on all things DTS.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25 states, “Do you know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath but we an imperishable.”
This demonstrates how Christian fitness training can alter an athlete’s mentality to serve God and His communities rather than themselves. By participating in sports mission trips and grounding your physicality in discipline, you can gain more from athletic activities than in the first place. You can change the world.
