We are a family of three who dreams of having a home, but the high cost of living has made it impossible for us to build one. My husband and I have been together for six years, though we have only been married for two months. When we met, I was a single mother, and over time, we decided to start a family. For years, we lived with my mother and then rented, as we could not afford to buy land. Thanks to family efforts, we finally acquired a lot, but we lack the resources to build a house. We currently live in a small room that was once a taco stand, unable to move elsewhere due to high rental costs. Four months ago, I started working to support my husband, as his salary alone is not enough to cover rent, land payments, our son’s education, and other basic needs.
