Dear Homes of Hope Team, My name is Alfonso García Santiago, and I would like to share a bit about my situation. Before meeting my current partner, I lived in a common-law relationship, and from that relationship, my son Leonardo García was born. He depends on me as well and lives with his mother. Currently, I am part of the García González family. We have purchased a plot of land in installments and are living in a 3x4-meter room made of compressed wood. Recently, strong winds have been seeping through, making it very cold. I work independently in construction, but work has been scarce lately, which has made things more difficult for us. Our daily expenses include purchasing potable water and making monthly payments for the land, leaving little room to build a decent house. Honestly, I hadn’t seriously considered the idea of having my own home until I got married. It was then that the dream of providing my family with a proper house—a fundamental need for any healthy marriage—began to grow within me, always aiming for their well-being and stability. For this reason, we have turned to you, hoping to receive your assistance in making this dream a reality.
