Letter from the family:
Hello! we are the family Soto Lozano, we are a family of 5. My husband and I have 3 wonderful children who we love more than anything. My dream as a mom is to give my children a comfortable place where they can live and play. We used to pay rent in a very small and ugly place but we decided we want to leave something to our children for when we're gone so we started paying this land. With our savings we gave our down payment and that day our adventure begun. Since then we started collecting wood and we started working on leveling our ground. Friends and family helped us a lot and a week and a half later we got to build a little room where we are currently living in. Our first months were a struggle because we didn't have electricity or running water and we had a dirt floor so lots of little animals would crawl inside the house. In the end we are so happy that little by little we are creating our own home with a lot of effort and sacrifice. It was hard to connect to electricity but thank God and with our parents help now we have light inside our house. My children sometimes ask me how long we will live in these conditions and it's hard to give them an answer. Sometimes they get sick because the room is cold and the walls have some holes where the air comes through at night. Our roof is covered with plastic that we got from some of our neighbors so that when it rains our roof doesn't leak. I love being in my home so I try really hard to keep my house clean and comfortable for my children. Whatever we've been able to buy it's been with a lot of effort and it would be such a dream come true that Homes of Hope would build a house for our children to have a beautiful place where they can rest and sleep peacefully.
