It has been harder for the couple, at the beginning they were renting but it was hard for them to keep up with the rents. Finally, they decided to buy a property with a credit and moved there. They build a small room with pieces of wood and tarp.

The children are not going to school because they lost most of their papers in the years they were homeless, and they couldn’t sign up the girls in any school because of it.

9 months ago she came to Ensenada because her family here offered to help her and they found her a job in a mini-market. She earns 5000 pesos per month (around 280 dollars). She was able to find a land that cost $7,320 dollars. She is buying it in payments paying 100 dollars monthly. Because she is paying that amount of money for her land she can’t  pay a rent. So she decided to live on her own land in a room she made with woods craps and tarp, with her 4 children.

She wants to give a better life to her children and she hopes in God that He can always provide and help her to overcome all this situation in which they find themselves.

One day, because of the animals around their property, the entire place was infested with ticks. They had to throw away all the wood that their small shack was made of fumigate their land and Veronica had to cut all the girls’ hair because they had ticks on them.

 Today, they are living in a camping tent that someone gave them and the people around their community have been trying to help them out as much as they can until they receive their own Home of Hope.
