Family History

20 years ago Flora’s parents came to live in Ensenada looking for a job and a better living style and after a while they bought a property and her sisters were born here in Baja. She’s a single mom long time ago when she was 18 she met her son’s father (he was 23 at the time).

When Leonides was born everything was going well but when the baby was 8 months old the dad received a job offer in Sonora and left without saying anything. Flore knew about it because only like twice he sent money for her kid and then didn’t hear from him.

Since that moment Flora has been taking care of her son by herself. When the father of her child left she moved in with her mother and got help from her family.

Little by little Flora paid for the property and she finished paying for it and her sister Veronica moved to live with her to help her. Flora’s uncle helped to build a small room of wood, and has been living there for a year.

Flora goes to college from Monday to Thursday majoring in psychology and works from Friday to Sunday to pay for college and buy what she needs for her home. Her sister also helps with the payment,

Her salary varies depending on work availability but if everything is well she earns from 230 - 250 mxn. Now that she’s on vacation she works all week and when she does her sister takes care of her kid.

Recently Flora and her sister had a car accident after leaving work, the other person was driving the wrong way and hit them. Flora has some bruises, and got a little bit injured in her back and right wrist. Her sister Veronica got hits in her face, mouth and teeth.

Flora wishes for a home for her son due to where they live it can leak when it rains and it’s hard to build her own without receiving help from Leonides' dad.
