Equipo MA Harvest 16x20

Aleida was born in Guadalajara and when she was young her mom brought her to Ensenada and with time they moved to San José los cabos, so she grew up between those places. Aleida lived in different places due to her parents' jobs.

After some time she met the father of her children and they lived in la Paz with Aleida’s family, they lived sometimes im La Paz and other times in Ensenada, some time passed and Aleida and the father of her children had some differences and they decided to split up and Aleida stayed in Ensenada.

Aleida worked in a restaurant trying to help her family move on, renting and working and being a mom. She rented a small home and paid $800 pesos of rent but one day they asked for that home back so a neighbour heard about this and let her stay in a room. After a while she got an offer to buy the property and she started doing that.

That house is in not great condition and Aleida doesn’t have resources to do something in the property because they don’t have a lot of money, each month she pays $5000 pesos for the property.

She split up from her partner 12 years ago because she was being physically mistreated and her partner of the time was in not good things, and Aleida wasn’t comfortable or happy.

Aleida works as a waitress selling Birria and only rests on Tuesdays, her children stay alone due to the oldest sister taking care of them while Aleida works.

She wants a home so they can have a better room to live and have something better for her children.

Historia de la familia

Antonio y Maria del Carmen are from Acapulco and 4 years ago they decided to come live in Ensenada, with his kid and Antonio’s mom porque there was a lot of crime in Acapulco, they came to Ensenada looking for a job.

In Ensenada their first daughter was born (Adele). A family member told them about how to get property here in Ensenada. Antonio’s mom helped them with some money so they could get the property.

In July 2020 Maria del Carmen had some throat sores and she started having fever and pain, when they went to the doctor the doctor told them she had thyroid problems but she stopped tasting food and would cough blood.

They took her again to the hospital and a doctor evaluated her and told her she had Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. This makes her organs get inflamed and her articulations too.  Maria del Carmen was in the hospital for 3 days and was ok after that but sadly she felt sick again and the doctor that worked with her had to leave and they couldn't contact him. They gave her different medicines due to nothing working and she seemed like she wasn’t sick, but she started convulsing and fell into a coma and they couldn’t do anything for her. In August Maria del Carmen passed away. It has been hard for her family to move on.

Antonio’s mom helps with the kids, takes care of them while Antonio works. Maria heard about Homes of Hope from other people, sadly due to COVID they haven’t received a home. For Antonio it has been hard not having his wife with him, and now they are hoping for a home because they can live better and it's what her mom would have wanted.

Samuel and Karina were born in Ensenada, they both met in school, they had been dating for a while when Karina’s mom had to go live with her grandma and in that moment Karina and Samuel decided to live together. She was 16 and he was 18.

They went to live with Samuel’s parents, they both worked but a year after they had their first kid Hiromi and then Samuel (JR).

Samuel Jr was born with reflux problems and due to this he has anemia and has been constantly in medical check. He need special meds and milk due to anemia.

A friend of Samuel told them about properties with loan options and that’s how they decided to buy land and move there. Samuel’s dad had a trailer and lent it to them so they can move to their property.

Samuel works in a company that sells water to the colonias, he works everyday except Sundays and Karina takes care of their home and the kids.

Their property doesn’t have water or electricity, they have a solar lamp in their property and they get water from Samuel’s job.

They need a home so their kids can live more comfortably, the trailer where they live is really small and there’s not enough space. They want a home to have a better quality of life and have a little bit more space. Due to their economic situation they are not able to get one by themselves. They have faith that God will give them a home.
