FAMILY INFORMATION:

MOTHER: Alicia

Age: 58 years old

Job: Flea Market

Salary weekly: $100 US

CHILDREN

Jonathan - 14 years old

Kevin - 11 years old

Dilan - 9 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello Homes of Hope!! I come to you to ask for your support since I currently have the legal custody of my three grandchildren. Their mom, my daughter, is heavily addicted to drugs and because of that child protection had to remove the kids from her. She has abandonned them and neglected them completely so I have to provide for all of their needs. They've been with me for 3 years and it's been ver hard to sustain ourselves since I'm old and I have a lot of health issues. The place we live in is not in the right conditions for three little children. The kids help me when we have to sell other stuff because we don't always make enough for a living through selling in the flea market. So sometimes they help me sell food in the streets. It's by God's grace that we still have what we need. He provides for everything we need through godly people like you so thank you so much for blessing the most needed. God bless you always!!!!

Letter from the family:

Hello! We are the Peñaloza Benítez family, I Karina came from the south of Mexico to Tijuana in search of better opportunities. Here I met my husband and we got together to start a family. One year later we had our first baby. It was a very hard season since my husband fell into addictions. I prayed every night for my husband and the Lord helped us. We moved to Rosarito in search of a better life and so that we could have a fresh start. Here we met wonderful and good people who helped us start again and we found our new beginning. My husband found a new job and we started saving to buy a piece of land. Soon we had enough for the downpayment but the monthly payments and the rent became hard to pay so I started working to help with the expenses too. We didn't want to pay rent anymore so we tried to save as much as we could and with the help of our family we built a little room in our land to move in to. Our house is not in the best conditions. We have a lot of humidity and everytime it rains the roof and the walls leak. We've tried covering the roof with tarp but it doesn't last much. Our son get sick often because of the cold and the humidity and as much as we wan't to fix the house it's really hard because of all of our other expenses. Our son is also currently going to therapy, because he was diagnosed with autism. We are doing everything we can to help him but we need help to provide our son a better home. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity, God willing we will have a better home one day. God bless you!

We were renting for a while but as rents are going higher and higher we decided to acquire a land and move to it instead of paying more rent. We then heard about homes of hope and decided to reach out because we don’t live in the best conditions. I work in a factory from Friday to Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm and my husband works in a taco shop and cleaning land sometimes to make a bit more money. We’ve tried to save money to at least start to build something better or put a concrete floor but things always happen and we have to spend our savings. Our dream is to have a better home but we have realized we cannot do it without help. Thank you so much for helping us, may the Lord give you way more in return and bless you always.

Hello!! We are the Luelling Peinado Family. We are a small family with the big dream of having a house of our own. When my husband and I first got together we started paying rent and realized how expensive renting was. We started praying for God to give us a piece of land so we could build our own house. God was very faithful and he helped us save the money for the downpayment and we started dreaming of our house. We started giving the monthly payments and trying to save for materials but then things kept coming up and saving became very difficult. Everything was getting more and more expensive. Then we heard about these organizations that build houses for low income families and we applied to one of them but we got denied because we didn’t live in the area they built in. We kept praying and the Lord directed us to Homes of Hope and now we come to you with our hearts open, we want our family to have a permanent home. We’ve prayed a lot for this opportunity and we’ve worked really hard but we can’t do it on our own. Thank you so much for all your help and for everything you do for families like ours!!!!

Marelyn - 15 years old

Hayley - 11 years old

Adriel - 4 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are a family of 5 living in a little room where we sleep all together in the same bed. Our house is made of wood but not in good condition. The roof and walls are full of humidity and because of that our little boy has been getting lung diseases. Our daughters also get allergies very often because of the damp conditions we live in. When it’s very windy outside sometimes parts of our roof get damaged too so we’ve tried to fix it multiple times but all of our effort is only temporary. We’ve put a tarp and heavy things on top of it so it doesn’t blow away because that’s all we can afford for now. We’ve tried to save money so we can improve the house but things happen like we lose our job or one of the children gets sick and we have to spend the little we’ve saved. Our situation sometimes is very frustrating because our daughters are growing up and we can’t give them their own privacy. We simply don’t have the resources to build the space they need. That's why we come to you with all of our heart. We ask that you take us into account. We really need your help so we wait for you with a lot of expectation. God bless you!!!

Letter from the family:

Hello! We are the family Alvarado Jimenez, we are currently renting and we ask for your support to receive a Home of Hope since we have always desired to have our own home. Our expenses exceed our income and it’s very hard to save to build something for our own. We have three children, two in middle school and a baby. My wife wasn’t able to work during the pregnancy because it was a complicated pregnancy. She was supporting the children with their homework and taking care of the baby after she was born. My salary was not much so it was only covering some of our expenses so my wife had to go back to work. Having a house of our own would help us in so many ways, especially if we can stop paying rent so we can use that money for something else. Thank you so much for considering our case and for all of your help.

FAMILY INFORMATION:

MOTHER: Carla

Age: 36 years old

Job: Gas Station

Salary Weekly: $160 US

FATHER: Edgar

Age: 36 years old

Job: Taxista

salary weekly: $140 US

CHILDREN

Ian - 6 years old

Brendan - 17 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are the Aguilar Ramos Family. In 2021 we began with this dream of having our own home in order to stop paying rent. We started by saving to give the down payment. Then on the weekends we would go to our land to work leveling it. It took a lot of effort and money. Sometimes we were discouraged and we wanted to give up cause we had to do it with our own hands since renting a machine to do it is very expensive. We also wanted to save money by doing it ourselves so we even did the septic tank and the retaining wall ourselves. Our cousin’s house is next to our land and when she had to move out she allowed us to live there for free so we could keep investing in our own piece of land. Now conditioning the land cost us a lot of money too. We took a loan to do that but it was not enough. The roof still leaks and we don't have a bathroom so we have to walk to our land to use the bathroom. We still have the dream of building our own home in our little piece of land and we would love for you to help us accomplish this great dream of having a home that’s peaceful and safe for our children. We are working really hard to accomplish this and with God’s help we know it will be possible. Thank you so much for your help!!!!

Plum Creek Church - Carlos Rivera (Yellow Team)

MOTHER: Cinthia

Age: 31 years old

Job: Sales

Salary Weekly: $110 US

FATHER: Dario

Age: 35 years old

Job: Mechanics

salary weekly: $150 US

CHILDREN

Jiselle - 11 months old

Edwim - 10 years old

Brian - 13 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello! We are the Carlos Rivera family. We’ve been living in our land for the past 8 years in a house that was built there years ago before we moved in. It’s a very old damaged house. The roof leaks and the walls are not properly sealed. When it's winter it’s very cold and damp even inside. Our roof has to have a tarp so we don’t get so much water inside the house. We moved to our land because the rents were very high and we couldn’t afford them anymore. So we did what we could to condition the house and moved in. The government helped us with money to build our bathroom and to buy some drywalls for the inside of the house but the structure itself is very damaged and old so the improvements didn’t last much. With our own income we haven’t been able to improve the house that’s why we come to you to ask for help. We want to feel safe inside our house and live in better conditions than the ones we currently live in. So receiving a Home of Hope would be such a wonderful help for us. Thank you so much for considering us and for all of your support!

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are a family from a small town in the south of Mexico. We left because our life there was very complicated. There’s not a lot of job or education opportunities and it’s very underdeveloped in many ways. One day my husband and I talked about leaving to find a better life and so we came to Tijuana. At the beginning it was very hard to find a job but we didn’t give up. Our children really wanted to go to school, that's one of the reasons we came to the city. Thank God we were able to enroll them in school and now they know how to read and write. We are very happy for them because we want them to have access to education so when they grow up they can get a good job and have better income. Later on we were able to find a piece of land for our little family. Our dream is for our children to live in a peaceful place where they can be safe and happy. That;s why we come to you to ask for your help. Where we currently live, when it rains water leaks everywhere and it creates a lot of humidity and that’s affecting our health, apart from the fact that it’s very cold at night. Our salary hasn’t been enough to put a concrete floor on our house so the floor is very uneven. Our children often ask us if one day we will be able to have a home and we just tell them they need to be patient. That’s why we come to you, thank you for reading our letter and for considering our petition.

FATHER: Marco Antonio

Job: communications company

salary weekly: $130 US

CHILDREN

German - 7 years old

Juan - 8 years old

Cindy - 14 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello!!! My name is Patricia, our family had been paying rent for a long time so with some help from my family, my husband and I built the house we currently live in in our land. We haven’t had enough money to condition it well so when it rains the roof leaks a lot and water also comes through the walls. Our floor is not perfectly built so water runs through the ground too and it makes our children feel unsafe even inside the house. Last year I heard about Homes of Hope and I started praying every night for God to bless us with a comfortable home for my children where they could sleep warm and without fear. In our area we would see other houses being built and my children would tell me: “mom we want a house as beautiful as that one too”. I told them to pray to God and they have been praying every night since then. We know that He can do it. I thank you with all my heart for considering us for a Home of Hope. We are very excited and happy for this opportunity!

Hello!! We are the family Sandoval Alaniz, we’ve been living in Tijuana for the past 12 years, we are originally from the south of Mexico. When we got here my husband would work in the morning and I would work at night so we could take care of our son. Later on we had our daughter. We’ve always worked very hard and we’ve wanted a house of our own for a long time but no matter how hard we try, things happen and we can’t do it. We’ve tried to be generous even in the middle of our own needs. When the pandemic happened we also went through a lot of financial problems. My husband lost his job and eventually I did too. We started asking for loans and our debt kept growing and growing. My mother in law got sick and that left us with even more debt. We are currently paying our debt, the land, our rent, the kids' schools and our other house expenses. That's why we haven’t had enough to build something in our land. Sometimes we are in pain and anguish because we feel powerless under the circumstances, but we will keep searching for more of God, we know he has a purpose for us and we will keep looking for that. Thank you so much for considering us for a Hope of Hope!!!

Building Foundations MA - Rosas Vasquez (Brown Team)

Date Build: Wednesday 24th - Thursday 25th, July 2024

FAMILY INFORMATION:

MOTHER: Leslie

Age: 19 years old

Job: Stay at Home mom

FATHER: Obed

Age: 27 years old

Job: Factory

salary weekly: $200 US

CHILDREN

Gael - 1 year old

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are the Rosas Vasquez family. We write to you to ask for your help to receive a home because our actual living conditions are very bad. We have a little baby and it’s consuming all of my wife’s time. She had to leave university because of this. I heard about Homes of Hope through some neighbors and I couldn’t believe it. In the last few years we’ve been living in a little room with our family. There we only have space for our clothes, we don’t have a bathroom or a kitchen and it’s on the second floor. There’s a lot of humidity in the room and when it rains it becomes worse in many ways. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t know what else to do. Our situation is very unfortunate and we need your help. In the last few months our baby got sick because of the cold and that has exceeded our expenses. We’ve had our piece of land for a while but we still haven’t been able to build anything. I want to give my family and home and stability and I know God is big and he can help me do this. I know he has good things prepared for us and he knows our current situation. Right now only I can work because my wife is with the baby. She used to help me selling things and cutting hair but right now she’s too busy with the baby. She wants to re take her studies in the future but right now our situation is very complicated. I feel like I don’t have any right to ask God for help, it’s only been in the last few years that I have drawn near to him but I’m desperate. When it’s not one thing is another. They recently detected a cyst in our baby’s hand and we’ve been taking him to get studies. My wife and I have cried together and prayed to God and we know He will help us. Thank you so much for your time and for considering our petition, God bless you always!!!
