Tijuana, Mexico is a booming city with a wide variety of social and spiritual needs located just 15 miles from downtown San Diego on the border of the United States and Mexico.

The San Diego – Tijuana border crossing represents the largest disparity between wealth and poverty found anywhere in the world.

Although primarily known as a tourist town, Tijuana is much more than souvenir shops, bars and disco clubs. Just a few short miles from the tourist areas are hillside barrios, dirt streets, and one-room cardboard shacks that serve as home for many of the cities two-million residents. Over 5,000 people per month from all over Mexico and Central America are moving into Tijuana. Many of these new residents are seeking ways in which they can better provide for their families or themselves. They are hard-working people looking for an opportunity that will make a difference in their lives.

There are many evangelical churches in Tijuana. We are working with various churches and institutions, and partnering with them in their efforts through work teams and/or evangelistic services in order to share the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

The city of Tijuana represents a diverse and unique opportunity for those wanting “hands-on” involvement in a short-term foreign missions outreach.

Each year thousands of people from all over Mexico and Central America move into the Northern Baja region. Many are poor indigenous Native peoples who have migrated to work in the fertile farms and fields located in the Baja. Attending groups will minister in the Ensenada area.

This trip is designed for groups who desire a greater challenge and want to venture further south into the Baja. Your team will be hosted by Youth With A Mission staff who will provide outreach contacts and evangelistic opportunities through networking with various local churches and Christian ministries.

Groups will use a wide variety of creative methods to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ, such as drama, puppets, music, tracts, personal testimonies and preaching using a translator. Groups will also participate in orphanage ministry as well as practical hands-on work projects, such as light construction, cleaning, painting, digging, etc.

As we reach out boldly to declare the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have not heard, many lives will be transformed and the results will last for all eternity.

San Diego is the seventh largest city in the U.S. with over 10,000 homeless and the second largest resettlement site of refugees from around the world including Burma and Somalia.  San Diego is in dire need for Jesus.  We have over 20 years of experience hosting teams and are expanding our ministires to compliment what we are already doing in Mexico by pioneering new opportunities in the states.

Ministry options include but are not limited to lunch with homeless, VBS with local churches, serving in  soup kitchens, nursing homes, city street clean up, working with refugees & prayer walks through the city.
